HO CHI MINH CITY, 7 August 2025 – SAP today announced the official launch of SAP Labs Vietnam. The company plans to invest over €150 million in this digital innovation hub over the next five years. As a global leader in enterprise applications and business AI, SAP has partnered with some of the most respected companies worldwide for over 50 years. We help businesses unite critical operations across finance, procurement, HR, supply chain, and customer experience.
Vietnam's Digital Economy
Vietnam is one of Southeast Asia’s fastest-growing digital economies. It is projected to grow by an estimated 20% in 2024, contributing 18.3% to GDP—three times the country's overall economic growth rate. With SAP Labs Vietnam, we aim to develop world-class software and support local businesses and communities in an increasingly connected digital world.
The Location and Its Significance
Located at The Nexus in the heart of Ho Chi Minh City, SAP Labs Vietnam is the second SAP Labs Network hub in Southeast Asia, following Singapore. It is one of 20 SAP Labs globally. This hub underscores SAP’s commitment to investing in the Asia Pacific region. It will help elevate local digital capabilities and strengthen Vietnam’s position as a dynamic technology market in Southeast Asia. The new hub will play a key role in supporting SAP’s product development across core areas, including sustainable digital supply chains and intelligent enterprise solutions, enabled by AI.
“SAP Labs Vietnam is more than just a research and development center - it’s a catalyst for transformation in one of the most dynamic tech markets in Asia,” said Thomas Saueressig, Member of the Executive Board of SAP SE, Customer Services & Delivery. “Vietnam’s proven track record in delivering tech innovation, along with its fast-growing base of software engineers, made Ho Chi Minh City a fitting choice for our next SAP Labs location.”
Growth and Talent Development
With more than 200 employees already onboarded since September 2024, SAP Labs Vietnam is expected to grow to 500 employees by 2027. This includes up to 350 new hires in 2025. We are not only recruiting for senior roles but also collaborating closely with Vietnam’s top universities in Ho Chi Minh City. Our goal is to nurture local tech talent and provide career pathways in advanced areas like data analytics, AI, and software engineering.

“We’re not just opening an office; we’re building a talent ecosystem. That means bringing together Vietnam’s most creative and knowledgeable tech experts and collaborating with the country’s top universities to foster long-term career opportunities for the next generation of innovators,” said Manik Saha, Managing Director of SAP Labs Singapore & Vietnam.
Strategic Importance of Vietnam
SAP’s investment reflects the country’s growing strategic importance to our global business. There is an increasing demand for localized innovation in key markets such as Korea and Japan.
“Vietnam’s rapid digital transformation and its young, tech-savvy workforce make it a vital pillar in SAP’s global vision for sustainable growth and inclusive innovation,” added Viet Nguyen, Managing Director of SAP Vietnam.
Conclusion
SAP Labs Vietnam marks a significant milestone in our journey. We are committed to fostering innovation and supporting local businesses. This hub will play a crucial role in shaping the future of technology in Vietnam and beyond.
